WVR - On the morning of June 1, at the Presidential Palace in Manila, President of the Republic of the Philippines Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his spouse presided over the solemn welcoming ceremony for General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, on their state visit to the Philippines from May 31 to June 1, 2026.

The convoy carrying General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse entered the Presidential Palace grounds. President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his spouse warmly greeted General Secretary, State President To Lam and his spouse at the car door.

The two leaders stepped onto the honor podium. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and the Philippines.

Simultaneously, 21-gun salutes echoed to welcome the state visit of General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation.

After the national anthems, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. invited General Secretary, State President To Lam to review the guard of honour . Subsequently, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and General Secretary, President To Lam introduced the high-level delegates from both sides attending the ceremony.

Immediately following the official welcoming ceremony, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and his spouse, along with General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, proceeded to the guestbook signing room at the Presidential Palace.

Here, General Secretary, President To Lam expressed his delight at visiting the Presidential Palace and his deep impression of the long-standing culture and aspirations for prosperity of the Philippines and its people. The consensus reached today between the two countries will elevate the friendly neighborly relations between Vietnam and the Philippines to new heights, bringing tangible benefits to the people and development of each nation, and contributing positively to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

Subsequently, President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and General Secretary, President To Lam led the high-level delegations of both countries in official talks; witnessed the signing of cooperation documents and met with the press.
