
VNU Hanoi’s global ranking achieves remarkable improvements

Among these, 10 out of 12 subjects secured a position in the global top 500, marking a notable achievement for the university. Notably, five subjects have entered the rankings for the first time, while five others improved their standings compared to the previous ranking. Additionally, one subject has successfully re-entered the rankings after a previous absence.
VNU Hanoi also witnessed the return of two subject groups: Engineering & Technology, ranked in the 451-500 group, and Social Sciences & Management, positioned in the 501-550 group.
Among the university’s ranked subjects, four have reached the top 400 globally, while a total of seven subjects and subject groups have secured a place in the top 500.
VNU Hanoi remains the only university in Vietnam to be ranked in the fields of Sociology and Law & Legal Studies, reaffirming its academic excellence and impactful research contributions.
The QS World University Rankings, conducted by one of the world’s most prestigious higher education ranking organisations, evaluated 21,000 academic offerings across 1,747 universities in 100 countries and territories. The evaluation covered 55 subjects and five faculty areas.
The rankings are based on five key evaluation criteria: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Paper, H-Index (measuring research productivity and impact), and International Research Network (assessing global research collaboration), with varying weight depending on the faculty area.
