Nghe An province, in coordination with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, hosted an investment promotion seminar with the theme "Economic Development Prospects of Vietnam After Upgrading Vietnam-U.S. Relations and Investment Opportunities in Nghe An" on November 7, in the U.S. city of Dallas.
The event attracted over 50 participants, including representatives from the Dallas city government, American investors, businesses, and entrepreneurs in banking, finance, law, construction, energy, electronics, semiconductors, etc.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An, provided an overview of the socio-economic development situation, the outcomes of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), and future development orientations of the province.
Mr. Le Tien Tri, Head of the Management Board of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, introduced investment attraction policies to the delegates during the seminar.
Nghe An, being the largest province in the country and strategically important for security, politics, and culture, has managed to attract over 1.8 billion USD in FDI since 2019, despite challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes four major investment projects in the field of electronics and technology manufacturing, such as Goertek, Everwin, JuTeng, Luxshare ICT, totaling nearly 1.1 billion USD. Nghe An is emerging as a bright spot in investment attraction, soon to surpass the 1 billion USD mark in FDI project investment in 2023.
Speaking at the seminar, Consul General Nguyen Trac Ba affirmed that Nghe An and the U.S. have a lot of potential for investment cooperation, especially in the development of high-tech industrial and ancillary industry projects. The Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston is ready to serve as a bridge between Nghe An province and investors, organizations, and companies interested in exploring the market and investment opportunities in various potential sectors.

During the seminar, U.S. businesses and investors had many exchanges and discussions with the leaders of the People's Committee of Nghe An, departments, and companies regarding cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields the province is calling for FDI, particularly about measures to streamline administrative procedures to facilitate FDI companies operating locally.
The Nghe An delegation also visited the National Circuit Assembly (NCA) company based in Garland, Texas, on the same day. This company, a large-scale electronic circuit board assembly firm, provides services throughout Texas, focusing on the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex, Austin, Houston, and other states across the U.S., especially in Florida, California, and New York.
