Vietnamese leaders on April 19 offered congratulations to Indonesia on its successful organisation of the presidential election and the parliamentary election.
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent congratulatory messages to Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

In their messages, the leaders of Vietnam congratulated Indonesia on the elections that took place smoothly and peacefully, which are the basis for the country to continue developing stably and prosperously and promoting its stature in the region and the world.
They voiced their belief that the Vietnam-Indonesia strategic partnership will develop unceasingly for the sake of the two peoples and for peace, stability and prosperity of the ASEAN Community.
