Over the past months, Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad have held meetings to collect opinions of the Vietnamese community on draft documents of the 13th National Party Congress. Many delegates evaluated that the draft documents were thoroughly prepared with high coherence and combination of theory and practice, and consistency and innovation.

A virtual seminar to collect opinions of the Vietnamese community in Germany on the Draft of documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress recently organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany with the participation of a large number of representatives of Vietnamese associations, individuals, intellectuals, businessmen as well as the Party cells in Germany.
Representatives of Vietnamese associations in Germany (such as the Viet Nam - German Innovation Network, Vietnamese Student Association, October Club, Huong Viet Magazine, etc.) as well as the Party cells held that the drafts, compiled in a meticulous, scientific, careful, and thorough manner, are of high quality, objectively and comprehensively reflecting achievements as well as existing shortcomings and weaknesses while pointing out causes and lessons. They also forecast the development situation and trends in the country and the world, based on which targets, tasks, and key solutions for the development of Viet Nam overall and certain sectors will be devised.
Many delegates analyzed new points of the drafts including the growth model orientation, digital transformation, issues of sustainable development, environmental protection, and response to climate change, nature conservation, efficient use of natural resources, etc.
Regarding the legitimate state and Party building, some delegates emphasized the need to continue administrative reform and be more determined in the fight against corruption through strengthening supervision, focusing on better staff work. In particular, it is necessary to select talented and virtuous people, especially young staff with good skills and foreign languages, to put into leadership positions, resolutely eliminate incompetent people. This contributes to strengthening the people's confidence in the Party and State.
In addition, some delegates also commented on attracting high-quality human resources, applying modern science and technology, innovating, and taking advantages of digital opportunities for national development, especially in the digital age and in the context of promoting the digital economy in Viet Nam.

Towards the 13th National Party Congress, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Laos has circulated documents and announcements to the Vietnamese community. The draft documents have been uploaded online for Vietnamese people living in Laos to review and comment. Last month, the Embassy held a Vientiane meeting to exchange views and collect feedback and ideas from Vietnamese expats.
Vice Chairman of the association of Vietnamese people in Laos Pham Van Hung said he completely agrees with the draft documents, saying the Party and government have performed well the anti-corruption fight, which receives wide support from Vietnamese people both at home and overseas.
He urged better anti-corruption efforts in the coming time to win trust from the public and expected that the upcoming National Party Congress will elect qualified officials for the next tenure.
The draft documents have been developed with opinions of people from all walks of life and Party cells from the local to central levels taken into account, said Le Nho Thanh, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee in Laos.
All ideas and opinions collected in the meeting will be sent back home via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said.

Last month, Vietnamese expats living in Australia contributed their ideas to draft documents of the 13th National Party Congress at a virtual seminar held by the Embassy of Vietnam in Canberra.
Attendees included representatives from intellectuals, researchers, business leaders and students who enthusiastically expressed their opinions in various areas, such as economy, education, human resources development and sustainable development.
Most speakers held the draft documents in high regard, saying they have been thoroughly drafted with high coherence and combination of theory and practice, and consistency and innovation.
The documents made objective, comprehensive and specific assessments about the achieved outcomes and clarified limitations, weaknesses as well as their causes and lessons drawn, they said, adding that major viewpoints, policies and main solutions over the next five years, with a vision towards 2030 and 2045, have also been outlined towards realizing the goal of turning Vietnam into a developed, socialist-oriented country in the middle of this century.
The attendees suggested that more assessment be made about factors favourable for socio-economic development, thus strengthening the feasibility of the development goals in the next five years.
Some urged focusing more on attracting Vietnamese talents overseas and encouraging contributions of Vietnamese expats as a way to create a breakthrough in educational reforms and developing human resources for national development.
A representative of the student community urged specific solutions to foster a more dynamic, enthusiastic young generation and a special attention on the youth's role in each sector in the national socio-economic development strategy in the next 10 years as they are able to adapt to the rapid growth of science and technology.
