Among the Vietnamese citizens repatriated from the UK this time were students and people with underlying illnesses. |
Onboard the flight were people under 18, students who had completed their study but had expired visas or no accommodations due to school and dormitory closures, the elderly, those with underlying illnesses, and those who are on business or holiday with expired visas.
Due to travel restrictions, the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK collaborated with relevant agencies of the host country to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese citizens to travel to the airport and complete check-in procedures.

Upon arrival, all crew members and passengers underwent medical check-ups and were transferred to quarantine camps for health observation according to regulations.
In line with the Prime Minister’s instructions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has worked closely with the Ministry of Transport, relevant Vietnamese agencies, and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to arrange flights to bring home Vietnamese nationals stranded in foreign countries due to COVID-19.
More such repatriation flights will be conducted in the time to come, based on developments of the coronavirus pandemic in Vietnam and the world, the desires of Vietnamese citizens living abroad, and the quarantine capacity in localities in Vietnam.
