Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary

On April 8, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (VPDF) under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary (April 9, 2003-2023) and receive the first-class Labour Order.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan applauded the VPDF for its meaningful and practical contributions to people-to-people diplomacy, thereby effectively implementing the foreign policy of the Party and State in all stages of the country's development.

The official emphasised that the VPDF has contributed to strengthening friendship and cooperation, promoting the support of international friends for the cause of national renewal, construction and development, promoting and protecting the national interests, and actively contributing to the common efforts of the mankind for a world of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

She suggested that the VPDF continue to participate and contribute to resolving conflicts and disputes in the region and the world through peaceful solutions and international law; and join hands to support victims of armed conflicts, natural disasters, epidemics, and post-COVID-19 economic decline.

VDPF Chairman Ha Hung Cuong expressed his deep gratitude to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh who is its founder and now Honorary chairwoman.

Cuong emphasised that the organisation will continue to promote the tradition of serving the cause of people-to-people diplomacy in particular and national peace safeguarding and development, contributing to peace, justice, democracy and progress in the region and around the world.
