Vietnamese celebrities joined representatives from many international organizations, Vietnamese youths and students in a June 7 march around Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem Lake to encourage people to start "Taking action for nature".

The "Taking action for nature" campaign was launched by the United Nations on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans (June 8).

Vietnam Clean Energy Magazine launched the "Green Earth" program in May 2020 in response to the above-mentioned campaign.

The program is deployed in two phases. The first phase has been launched on Facebook with a campaign calling on people to take a minimum of 30,000 steps a day in three consecutive days. Participants walk 30,000 steps, video the act and posted it on their personal Facebook page together with a message on protecting the environment, improving health and calling for others to join.

The second phase was the massive march on June 7 with the broad participation of all walks of life as well as other activities such as awarding funds to support environmental activities.
