The MoU lays the groundwork of a strategic alliance that will improve passenger and cargo transportation services between the two countries.

They committed to carrying out joint marketing campaigns to boost brand recognition and forging cooperation in codeshare and other support services such as aircraft leasing, ground services, technical maintenance and cargo services.

The collaboration aims at delivering better experience to passengers, meeting the growing transportation demand between the two countries, and promoting the aviation industry’s sustainable development.

Vietnam Airlines General Director Le Hong Ha said the cooperation will generate both immediate and long-term benefits for the two carriers while contributing to strengthening the partnership within the SkyTeam Airline Alliance, adding Vietnam Airlines wants to develop cooperation opportunities across the areas of service, technical maintenance, and cargo transportation, among others.

Meanwhile, President Director/CEO at Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra said the strategic partnership marks a milestone in the two airlines’ commitment to improving travel experience for passengers across Southeast Asia while helping consolidate their positions in the international aviation market.
