Trang An tourist spot: A destination well worth for any traveller

Trang An landscape complex in Ninh Binh province is a historical and cultural relic of Hoa Lu, ancient capital, located in the scenic area of Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong and Hoa Lu primeval forest of special use.
With a surface area of more than 2,000 hectares, Trang An scenic complex is made up of limestone mountains, caves, valleys, rivers, and many historical relics.
Looking down from above, Trang An looks like a charming painting, lovingly interlaced with mountains, rivers, sky and clouds. To be able to fully explore the beauty of Trang An, visitors shall travel by boat.
The price of Trang An tourist boat ticket is currently VND 250,000/person. However, a boat must accommodate 5 passengers to start the cruise, if travellers are on board earlier while there are not enough 5 guests, the travellers have to wait, or pay for the remained empty seats to set out.
From the wharf, the first stop is Presentation Temple (Trinh), next travellers cruise through Sacred Cave, Dark Cave, Luminous Cave, wine brewery cave, then go ashore and climb nearly 500 stony steps to enter and offer incense at the Deity Tran Temple.
Next, travellers take a boat through Sinh cave, Si cave, Ba giọt (Three water drops) cave, Seo cave, Son Duong cave, and Confucius palace, then continue the route to Confucius cave, Tran cave, Quy Hau cave... and back to the starting point.
Currently, the boat tour in Trang An is divided into 3 routes, each route goes through different caves, but there is one thing in common, the cave exploration route forms a circle waterways circuit without having to go back. Each cave has its own unique beauty, associated with its own name, but all have beautiful shimmering stalactites and stalagmites. The air in the caves is freshly cool in summer but warm in winter.
Therefore, whether it is winter or summer, Trang An is always an attractive destination for domestic and international travellers. Before the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, with no social distancing, this place used to be overloaded because of the large number of travellers at times.
Talking more about the owners of the boats in Trang An, most of them are middle-aged women, only a few are men. To be able to row the boat, the boat owners have to undergo a training course in swimming, rowing, and have to pass a qualification test of related skills. They are also knowledgeable about the history of the very ancient capital and have a great love for nature.
Over two years of the Covid-19 pandemic raverage, which froze tourism, the boatmen at Trang An wharf were unemployed.

Ms. Hue - who was rowing the boat said: “Without tourists, it not only made the life wobbly, but everyone was sad because they could not row the boats and chat with tourists every day." Now that the tourists are back, she and the other boat rowers at this wharf are all happy.
In addition to domestic guests, Trang An is now busy with international delegations. According to the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, during the National Holiday of September 2nd, the number of tourists to the locality reached more than 151,000, an increase of 83% compared to the holiday of the same period in 2019 (not yet affected by the Covid-19 pandemic). Particularly, Trang An tourist area welcomed 26,200 visitors.
Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, Mr. Pham Duy Phong said: “The tourism sector has revitalized in smooth operation. This is also a favorable condition for the sector to be ready to welcome and better serve the tourists."
In order to welcome and serve visitors better, Ninh Binh tourism has "activated" several factors including the foremost safety factor. In critical places such as bus stations, bridgeheads, the watching wardens are reinforced; to passs information through the loudspeaker system and remind the travellers of practicing the civilized tourist culture.
In response to the demands of accomodation, Ninh Binh currently has 700 standard quality accommodation establishments. Therefore, even on holidays and festivals, there is no shortage of accomodation. And travellers are offerred diverse choices for their stay.
| At Trang An tourist spot, each season contains a different attraction. Travellers during this time –when the autumn comes, will encounter gentle winds, sweet early rays of sunshine. And definitely, it is recommended to take a boat rowing on the Sao Khe stream to explore the mysterious and charming cave quietly in this lovely country. |
