In addition, most women (90.4%) who experienced violence did not seek any help from formal services or authorities, and nearly half of them never told anyone about their experience. It was estimated that gender-based violence was costing Vietnam 1.81% of GDP in 2018.

UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency. Its mission is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled.

In 2018, UNFPA launched strategic efforts to achieve three transformative results, aiming to change the world for all men, women, and young people: zero preventable maternal deaths, zero unmet needs for family planning, and zero gender-based violence and harmful practices, such as child marriage and gender-biased sex selection. These goals arecore factors of UNFPA's new Strategic Plan, which was approved by the UNFPA Executive Board in September 2021.

The Center for Studies and Applied Sciences in Gender, Family, Women, and Adolescents (CSAGA) was established in 2001, with the mission to support and inspire women and girls to lead happy lives free from gender-based violence (GBV). CSAGA has long pursued an innovative approach by integrating art and entertainment to spread positive messages, promote people's values, and enhance their inner strengths in promoting gender equality and preventing and responding to GBV.

Since its establishment, CSAGA has supported thousands of women experiencing GBV and implemented hundreds of communication initiatives and innovative activities on this issue, including activities to respond to “National Action Month for Gender Equality and Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response” over the years.
