In his speech, Politburo Member and Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu reflected on the 81-year journey of national liberation, construction, and development. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with resilience, solidarity, and the aspiration to rise, the Vietnamese people have overcome numerous challenges and achieved great, historically significant accomplishments.
Today, Vietnam has become an independent, unified, peaceful, stable, dynamically developing nation, deeply integrated, a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community.
The achievements Vietnam enjoys today are the result of the great sacrifices of previous generations, the persistent efforts of the entire nation, and the valuable support and cooperation of international friends, including the government and people of Singapore.
Building on the achievements of 40 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam is entering a new era with two centenary goals and the aspiration to build a prosperous, civilized, and happy nation. Vietnam remains steadfast in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, resilience, peace, cooperation, and development; diversifying and multilateralizing foreign relations; proactively and actively integrating into the international community comprehensively, deeply, and effectively.
In this journey, Vietnam-Singapore relations have always been a highlight. Since Vietnam implemented the Doi Moi policy, Singapore has become one of the most important partners, effectively supporting Vietnam's development and international integration process.
Based on political trust, shared strategic vision, and common interests, the relationship between the two countries has continuously developed strongly, from establishing a Strategic Partnership in 2013 to upgrading to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025; Vietnam-Singapore cooperation has continuously expanded both in breadth and depth.
Besides traditional areas of cooperation, the two countries are becoming pioneers in new fields such as clean energy connectivity, digital transformation, innovation, high technology, and green finance...
Recently, the State visit to Singapore by General Secretary, President To Lam left a significant impression on both bilateral and multilateral levels, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Notably, the message of peace, cooperation, and development conveyed by General Secretary, President To Lam in his important speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue attracted attention and received high praise from domestic and international public opinion, thereby clearly affirming Vietnam's responsibility, role, and contributions to regional and global peace, security, and development issues; contributing to consolidating a peaceful, stable, and favorable environment for the country's development in the new phase.
During the visit, General Secretary, President To Lam and the leadership of the People's Action Party of Singapore agreed to establish a Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the two Parties, marking an important shift, elevating the cooperative relationship between the two ruling parties in both countries.
Politburo Member and Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue is an early, specific, and urgent implementation of the agreements between the two Parties.
Together, the two countries have opened a new phase of cooperation with increasingly substantive and effective stature. Vietnam wishes to continue to accompany and closely cooperate with Singapore to overcome the challenges of the era, jointly creating sustainable values, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries, while positively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Vietnam is also a favored tourist destination for many Singaporeans. The growing air connectivity makes travel more convenient. The list of destinations in Vietnam with direct flights from Singapore has expanded.
The dynamic and diligent Vietnamese community in Singapore and the increasing number of Singaporeans exploring Vietnam's rich culture and heritage will continue to strengthen social ties between the two countries.
