The seminar was attended by representatives from ministries and sectors involved in ASEAN cooperation, leaders of provincial and municipal People's Committees, research institutes, scholars, businesses, and many localities across the country participating online.

The seminar aimed to implement Conclusion No. 59-KL/TW of the Politburo on the orientation for ASEAN participation until 2030, contributing to bringing ASEAN cooperation orientations closer to localities, businesses, and the public.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang, Head of SOM ASEAN Vietnam, assessed that the year 2026 holds a pivotal significance in ASEAN's new development phase, as countries begin to implement the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 along with four strategic plans on Political-Security, Economic, Socio-Cultural, and Connectivity, aiming towards a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centered ASEAN Community.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the 14th Party Congress continues to identify ASEAN as a top strategic priority, linked to the nation's security and development space; the current requirement is to closely integrate the integration process with socio-economic development goals, enhancing the participation and benefits of ministries, sectors, localities, businesses, and the public.

Based on the key contents in the strategic plans on political-security, economic, socio-cultural, and connectivity, representatives from many localities shared development orientations linked with ASEAN cooperation in prominent fields such as urban cooperation, cultural industry and heritage tourism, finance and innovation, expanding import-export markets, logistics, and supply chain linkages.

The delegates assessed that the development potential of the ASEAN Community is vast, not only in political-security but especially in economics, trade, and investment; ASEAN also serves as a bridge for Vietnamese localities and businesses to expand cooperation with ASEAN partners such as China, Japan, Republic of Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, the United States...

The delegates emphasised that effectively utilizing ASEAN cooperation programs and mechanisms will practically support the implementation of national, sectoral, and local development plans. The growth of each locality and business is the foundation for Vietnam to continue participating in and contributing more to ASEAN.

To further enhance coordination between the state and the private sector to deepen, substantiate, and make ASEAN cooperation more effective, some opinions suggested promoting information exchange and experience sharing in ASEAN cooperation, especially new trends and cooperation opportunities in the region.
