The event was attended by nearly 100 delegates, including former leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former leaders of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee, veteran diplomats, scientists, experts, and representatives from various departments, ministries, and research institutes nationwide.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong,Party Central Committee Member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired and delivered a directive speech at the seminar.
In his speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong affirmed that looking back on the nation's 80-year glorious history and 40 years of Renewal, foreign affairs work has achieved significant accomplishments, as evidenced by speeches from Party and State leaders as well as international evaluations.
However, the new situation requires foreign affairs work to innovate in thinking, adapt to the times, while the country's position and strength have been enhanced, creating more room for foreign affairs to play its role.
In the new context, foreign affairs work also has the task of continuing to serve the country's strategic development goals practically, facing the new requirement of “developing foreign affairs work in the new era, commensurate with the nation's historical, cultural stature and position”.

At the seminar, delegates analyzed and interpreted the connotations of the comprehensive foreign affairs strategy at a new level from various perspectives; concretized many aspects of diplomacy in fields such as politics-security, economy, culture, science, and technology; and suggested some directions to enhance the effectiveness of foreign affairs-diplomacy in these fields, meeting the demands of the new situation.
The delegates also emphasized the necessity to further leverage Vietnam's important advantage in foreign affairs, which is the close and harmonious coordination between Party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy, as well as among various branches and forces involved in foreign affairs.
The seminar is part of a series of scientific activities by the Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at concretizing the foreign policy lines of the 14th Congress, affirming the determination of the diplomatic sector to urgently organize and implement the documents of the 14th Congress in an action-oriented manner, shifting strongly from “talk” to “action”, from awareness to implementation.
