Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, Le Ngoc Quang and local officials lay the first bricks to commence the construction of Cao Thi Ha’s house in Trung Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province. |
Various local agencies and organisations have joined hands to implement the initiative through a range of effective and diverse approaches.
Notably, the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) has integrated its clean water and sanitation loan programmes to support the construction of permanent homes.
Currently, 1,553 temporary and dilapidated houses in the province need to be upgraded or replaced, but limited state funding remains a challenge. To accelerate progress, the provincial steering committee has assigned clear responsibilities, deadlines, and expected outcomes to ensure effective implementation.
The provincial People's Committee has allocated 71.37 billion VND, while local authorities have secured over 1.28 billion VND in additional funding from organisations and individuals, alongside nearly 2,000 volunteer workdays for the programme.
Quang Trach district has embarked on the programme to eliminate all substandard houses, while other districts have committed to commencing construction in March and completing the programme before the August 30 deadline.
