He made the above statement at his reception for Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier at the Government headquarters in Ha Noi on March 25.

Phuc spoke highly of Peter Altmaier’s ongoing Viet Nam visit, saying it is an important event which will help boost the relationship between the two countries.

The bilateral ties have good during the past time with impressive growth of two-way trade and effective of German investment in Viet Nam among vivid evidence, said the Vietnamese Government chief.

In his visit to Germany last February, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas expect to substantiate the Viet Nam-Germany strategic partnership, according to a post on German Foreign Office’s Twitter account.

For his part, Peter Altmaier affirmed that Germany expects to promote friendly relations with Viet Nam as the room for bilateral cooperation remains wide open ahead.

He hopes that both sides will work together to accelerate the construction of the second metro line in Ho Chi Minh City.

Germany plans to approve a new law that will allow more Vietnamese laborers to work in the European country in a bid to prevent labor shortage, according to Peter Altmaier.

He said his country stands ready to foster cooperation with Viet Nam in such fields like renewable energy, education and training while wishing the Viet Nam-EU free trade agreement will be signed soon.
