Phu Quoc has surpassed the reference growth rate in all five monitored Southeast Asian markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The results indicate that Phu Quoc's allure is spreading across multiple markets simultaneously.

Traveloka describes the island as “Vietnam's island tourism star” and notes that Phu Quoc is rapidly becoming a favoured destination in the region, especially as it actively prepares to host the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in 2027.

In each market, Phu Quoc has also made its mark by topping the list of fastest-growing international destinations for Indonesian tourists, being among the standout growth destinations for Malaysian tourists, and ranking in the top 5 fastest-growing domestic destinations for Vietnamese tourists.

Not only at Traveloka but also at the 2026 Readers' Choice Awards by Condé Nast Traveller, U.S. edition, the Pearl Island led the list of Asian islands with a score of 95.26, marking its fifth consecutive appearance.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism believes that the votes from Condé Nast Traveller readers for Phu Quoc not only highlight the island's allure but also help to further spread the image of the pearl island across the global tourism market.

With its distinctive island scenery, rich natural beauty, and an increasingly diverse range of resort services, Phu Quoc is asserting its unique appeal in the island tourism landscape of Asia and around the world.

Previously, in July 2026, Phu Quoc was honoured by the reputable online travel service platform Expedia in the list of the top 10 most outstanding islands in the world for 2026.

The island is regarded as an ideal destination for luxurious vacations at competitive prices.
