He will isolate and be medically monitored at his place of residence for the next 14 days.
The boy had been living with his family in Cambodia. Two of five members of his family had contracted the virus in the neighboring country before he returned to Vietnam with the other two family members on March 8.
Upon arriving in the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh Province, they were immediately taken to the local General Hospital for quarantine.
Earlier in the morning, six COVID-19 patients were released from the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District after full recovery.
As of 6:05 pm on April 22, Vietnam confirmed 268 COVID-19 infection cases, of whom 223 have been cleared of the virus.
