This is the first visit outside Latin America since the Cuban PM took office in December 2019 and the first visit by a high-ranking Cuban leader to Vietnam since 2018. |
The visit took place in the context that the traditional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba have been constantly strengthened and promoted in every aspect. |
The visit aims to promote the implementation of agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and develop Vietnam-Cuba special ties, manifesting both countries' determination to further tighten the loyal friendship and solidarity, mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, Governments and peoples. |
During the visit, the Cuban Prime Minister is due to have meeting with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, pay courtesy calls to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; attend the Vietnam-Cuba business forum; visit Ho Chi Minh City and have some activities there. |
On this occasion, Vietnamese leader will present Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz with Ho Chi Minh Order for his contribution to the relations between Vietnam and Cuba. |
After the official welcome ceremony, the two Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Cuba have bilateral talks at the Presidential Palace. During this visit, the two sides are expected to sign a joint action plan to implement the bilateral agenda for the period of 2023-2025 covering 10 fields of cooperation between the two countries including economics, commerce, agriculture, industry, construction, transportation, science - technology, etc. |
