Needy people in Ninh Thuan province receive rice support.

Under Prime Minister’s Decision No 465/QD-TTg, 9,518 households in five districts, namely Bac Ai, Ninh Son, Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Bac and Thuan Nam, will get rice assistance. The beneficiaries are poor, near-poor households and those in extremely difficult circumstances.

Bach Van Nguyen, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that localities have provided support for the needy in a timely manner and in line with regulations.

According to the provincial People's Committee, the prolonged drought has been directly affecting agricultural production, people's lives and left negative impact on local socio-economic development.

Due to the lack of rain, water resources to reservoirs in the locality is much lower than the same period every year, leading to the scarcity of water for people in some areas, especially in the ethnic minority ones.
