National Assembly endorses new Cabinet lineup resolution

The resolution received the support of 455 out of 459 lawmakers present at the plenary session of the National Assembly (NA).
“The National Assembly believes you will work hard to successfully perform your duties entrusted to by the Party, State and legislature,” NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue told the new Cabinet members.
The new Cabinet is now made up of 28 members, led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and five Deputy Prime Ministers, namely Truong Hoa Binh, Pham Binh Minh, Le Minh Khai, Vu Duc Dam and Le Van Thanh.
It has 22 ministries and ministerial-level bodies, of which 12 have newly-appointed leaders. Notably, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence have new leaders.
April 8 is the last working day of the last session of the 14th National Assembly.
Vietnamese voters will go to the polls next month to elect a new legislative body for the 2021-2026 tenure.
