The Vietnamese Embassy in Seoul reported that about 200,000 Vietnamese citizens are living, working, and studying in South Korea including 8,285 in Daegu city.

The MOFA tasked the Embassy to open a hotline, +82 106 315 6618, for the Vietnamese expats here to seek help.

The Embassy has already maintained close contacts with people living in communities hit by the COVID-19 epidemic to get regular updates about the situations there and offer timely support if necessary.

The management authority of the Vietnamese guest workers in the Eastern Asian country also set up a hotline number + 82 103 248 6886 to provide support for those in need.

The Vietnamese citizens who are living in affected areas were asked to seriously follow instructions made by the local authorities to keep them safe.

Earlier, on February 21, the MOFA Consular Department issued a statement asking Vietnamese citizens to avoid travelling to areas hit by or vulnerable to the COVID-19 epidemic in South Korea and regularly follow and comply with directions of competent agencies to prevent the disease.
