Milestone in DPKR-Vietnam relations: Ambassador Ri Sung Guk

WVR - DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk believes that the state visit of General Secretary To Lam to Democratic People's Republic of Korea, from October 9 to 11, 2025, will be a significant milestone in the development of bilateral relations.

Speaking to the press, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk emphasized that the cooperative friendship between Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Vietnam is a precious relationship personally built and nurtured by the leaders of both countries.

According to Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, the great Leader Kim Il Sung had a profound and close relationship with President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved Leader of the Vietnamese people, based on genuine revolutionary camaraderie, providing both moral and material support to Vietnam's resistance war.

The DPRK Korean Ambassador stated that in the shared struggle against imperialism, for self-detemination and socialism, the valuable tradition of sincere friendship and cooperation during difficult times was established, becoming a key factor in helping the two countries' relations overcome historical challenges and progress sustainably.

According to Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, the cooperative friendship between DPRK and Vietnam, enriched by the high ideals of the leaders of both countries, was elevated to a new stage through the historic official friendly visit to Vietnam by General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un in March 2019.

Over the past 75 years, the two countries have continuously expanded and developed relations in political, economic, and cultural fields, and have closely coordinated on regional and international forums.

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed: “The visit of Comrade General Secretary To Lam to our country and participation in the activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea will be a meaningful occasion to demonstrate the solidarity among socialist countries as well as the enduring nature of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea-Vietnam cooperative friendship, which has a long history and tradition.”

The Ambassador shared that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea people will warmly welcome Comrade General Secretary To Lam as a cherished envoy of the Vietnamese people and firmly believes that this visit will mark a new significant milestone in the development of bilateral relations.
