On May 15, the 13th Party Central Committee held mid-term conference chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
This meeting is of great significance for the successful completion of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress’ resolution and is considered to be an opportunity to evaluate the results and achievements recorded since the beginning of the XIII term both objectively and comprehensively.
At the meeting, the Party Central Committee will give its opinions on a report reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Mid-term Secretariat, and a number of key tasks until the end of the term of the 13th Party Congress.
The conference will take the vote of confidence of the Central Committee for the members of the Politburo and the XIII Secretariat, whilst discussing several other important issues.

Furthermore, remaining limitations, weaknesses, causes, and lessons learned will be pointed out at the conference, while participants will touch upon the forecast regarding the context of a new situation with opportunities, advantages, and difficulties, as well as challenges in order to outline major guidelines and decisions that must be focused in the second half of the XIII term.
The conference will also consider and decide many key issues relating to the fulfillment of political tasks of the 13th Central Committee from now until the end of its term amid the world and domestic situation continuing to witness rapid, complicated, and unpredictable developments with greater difficulties and challenges than forecast.
As planned, the conference will run until May 17.
