Kon Tum reburies soldiers' remains found in Laos, Cambodia

The Central Highlands province of Kon Tum organised a memorial and burial service on June 6 for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives during wars in Laos and Cambodia.

The remains of 16, with one identified, were found and repatriated by Team K53 of the Kon Tum Military Command during the 2023-2024 dry season, with support from authorities and people of Ratanakiri of Cambodia, and Attapu, Sekong, and Champasak provinces of Laos.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Y Ngoc expressed deep gratitude to the authorities and people of Cambodian and Lao localities for their assistance for Team K53 in the search for and collection of martyrs' remains.

Representatives of the provincial Party Committee, authorities, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Kon Tum expressed their profound respect and boundless gratitude to the martyrs who fought and sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and the noble spirit of international solidarity, for peace and development of the three neighboring countries.
