At the invitation of Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son paid an official visit to Japan and co-chaired the 12th meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee from August 7-10, 2024.
On the morning of August 7, in Tokyo, Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko welcomed Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and co-chaired the 12th meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee.
t is expected that Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko will review the results achieved since the 11th Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee meeting on May 30, 2019.
Over the past time, the Vietnam-Japan relationship has developed strongly, comprehensively and substantively. notably the two countries have twice upgraded the relationship framework to an Extensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia in 2014 and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World. The two sides also successfully organized activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2023.
