Since its inception in April 2023, VUAJ and its member groups have received attention from various leadership levels and active support from Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan, notably the proactive assistance from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
In collaborative efforts, the Embassy has facilitated numerous networking opportunities, exchanges, and providing information about policies, regulations, and employment prospects in Japan, aiding Vietnamese individuals to adapt and integrate effectively into the country.
Additionally, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has collaborated with VUAJ to organize activities involving representatives from member associations to gather opinions and contributions, aiming to strengthen the Vietnamese community in Japan.
It can be assessed that the attention of Vietnamese state representative agencies towards VUAJ and community group activities, specifically for the Vietnamese community in Japan, has yielded positive outcomes, creating opportunities for personal development and active contributions from the Vietnamese community in both countries.
In the upcoming period from 2024 to 2025, the work of developing and building the Vietnamese community in Japan poses new challenges and opportunities. One key focus in VUAJ's forthcoming activities is enhancing solidarity and support among community members.
Primarily, VUAJ's member associations will continue to organize cultural events, workshops, and exchange activities to consolidate relations within the community, fostering an environment conducive to sharing experiences and mutual support.
Concurrently, these associations will plan and develop educational projects to enhance knowledge, language proficiency, and expertise within the Vietnamese community, aiding Vietnamese in Japan to accumulate skills and better adapt in Japan's multicultural work environment.
Additionally, through the collaboration with Japaneses NGOs, the VUAJ and its member associations are seeking solutions to provide legal support ưto alleviate challenges faced by Vietnamese individuals in Japan.
Finally, VUAJ's member associations aim to create business opportunities, encouraging small and medium enterprises owned by Vietnamese individuals to thrive, thereby enhancing economic ties between the Vietnamese community and Japanese society, contributing to the prosperity and sustainable development of the community in the future.

After the official visit to Japan of the President Vo Van Thuong and his spouse, along with high-level delegates in November, the two countries agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Japan relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
This signifies the unprecedented positive development of the Viet Nam-Japan relations, from politics, security, and defense, to economic-trade and investment, healthcare, culture, education, science, and technology, as well as in bilateral and multilateral fronts.
Therefore, VUAJ and its member associations will need to intensify proactive and effective actions, harnessing internal strengths from the community, and closely coordinating with Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan.
In doing so, VUAJ can achieve its objective of building a growing, mature Vietnamese community in Japan, contributing substantially to the consolidation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world between the two countries.
The Vietnam Union Association in Japan (VUAJ) was officially established on April 6, aiming to strengthen the connectivity among the associations and build a growing Vietnamese community in the host country. The 9-member standing board of the union consists of those prestigeous in the Vietnamese communities and representatives of associations in areas with large Vietnamese communities. According to VUAJ Chairman Nguyen Hong Son, with the slogan "One community, connecting two cultures", the union will coordinate with other Vietnamese associations to build a growing Vietnamese community in Japan that actively contributes to the national construction and defense and building up the friendship between Vietnam and Japan. Currently, there are about 500,000 Vietnamese working, studying and living in Japan. |
