The new headquarters cover 3,450 square metres in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, comprising of a working space and a residential area.
The ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the Delhi People’s Council Naresh Kumar, who said PM Phuc’s visit is of significance as it helps promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The New Delhi authority will create the best possible conditions for the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and the embassy during the construction, he pledged.

Addressing the ceremony, PM Phuc noted with pleasure the fruitful development of the time-honoured friendship between the Governments and people of Vietnam and India.
The construction has contributed to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in a more tangible and effective way, the leader said.
The new headquarters is expected to make it easier for the embassy’s staff to fulfil their tasks in the country, he noted.
The same day, PM Phuc visited the National Museum of India which displays more than 200,000 artworks on Indian culture, along with thousands of antiques.
