General Secretary To Lam asked Party Central Committee's Office to be model in all works |
Addressing the Office’s conference to review its performance in 2024 and sketch out tasks for 2025, the Party chief acknowledged and commended the efforts, dedication, and achievements of the office, emphasising that its activities have importantly contributed to this year’s overall accomplishments of the Party, armed forces, and people.
For duties in 2025, Lam underlined the need to fully and deeply understand the particularly important role played by the office in the coming period, noting that it must truly serve as a strategic, vital, and confidential advisory body, and a brain of the Party Central Committee, directly the Politburo and the Secretariat where the Party's key policies are developed and implemented.
Furthermore, the office should also serve as a information centre to support the leadership and also an operational backbone to ensure the seamless functioning of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, he said.
He urged the office to promptly complete the review of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, adopted by the 12th Party Central Committee in 2017, on continuing to restructure and streamline the political system for greater efficiency; and propose a new organisational model and structure for the office, saying that this effort should be accompanied by the proper placement of personnel.
Additionally, he asked for reviewing, amending, and supplementing internal regulations and operational processes to ensure that the office's activities are genuinely upgraded to operate with greater effectiveness and efficiency.
The office must provide effective consultations regarding the renovation of the Party's leading and ruling methods to meet the demand and tasks in the new situation; and speed up the implementation of digital transformation within the Party, in association with accelerating administrative reforms to better the efficiency of leadership and management in the digital environment, ensuring that Party organisations truly take the lead in this field, he stressed.
The report presented at the conference showed that in 2024, the office closely adhered to its assigned responsibilities and tasks, upheld a strong sense of accountability, and worked diligently to fulfill its work agenda.
Next year, the office will closely align its activities with the comprehensive work programme of the 13th Party Central Committee and the 2025 work agenda of the Politburo and the Secretariat, to proactively provide strategic consultations.
At the conference, many individuals and organisations were honoured for their outstanding achievements in 2024.
