Reporting on the situation of the Vietnamese community in France, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai stressed that the Vietnamese community in France is one of the oldest in Europe, currently comprising numerous associations and a large number of scientists, intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, students, and youth, representing a significant potential to contribute to the homeland.
Over generations, the community has strived to build a stable life, integrate well into French society, and always preserve the Vietnamese language, cultural identity, and national traditions.
Recently, the community has engaged in many practical activities directed towards the homeland, contributing to humanitarian, educational, and cultural efforts, promoting economic, trade, scientific, and technological cooperation, while actively serving as a bridge to strengthen Vietnam-France friendship.
Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai emphasised the desire to further harness the community's resources, especially intellectual resources; with Vietnamese scientists and experts in France increasingly participating in cooperation programs with Vietnam in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum technology, space, biotechnology, energy, and green transition.
Entrepreneurs act as investment, trade, and technology bridges, helping bring more French and European businesses to Vietnam. The young Vietnamese generation in France becomes a new connecting force between the two countries, proficient in both French and Vietnamese, understanding Vietnam, and being proud and ready to contribute to the homeland.
Representing the Vietnamese Association in France, Ms. Tran Ngoc Thao Sophie shared that the community is very interested in the renovation efforts being implemented by the Party and State to develop the country strongly; she also shared aspirations and concerns about how to build a united, integrated, and developing community that contributes more practically to the country.
Ms. Tran Ngoc Thao Sophie affirmed her strong agreement with the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese. The Vietnamese community in France, comprising many generations and becoming increasingly diverse, shares a common love for the homeland, awareness of their roots, and a desire to contribute to the country.

In his speech at the meeting, General Secretary, President To Lam emphasised that the visit takes place in the context of Vietnam-France relations experiencing their strongest and most favorable development since the establishment of diplomatic relations, especially since Vietnam and France upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership; affirming that the leaders of both countries agree that in the new development phase, Vietnam-France relations must develop to a new height, new level, and new method, meeting the development requirements of both countries.
On this occasion, the General Secretary, President suggested that the French Government pay more attention and create more favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in France to have a stable life, integrate well, contribute to the economic, social, and cultural life of France, and promote people-to-people exchanges; thereby further enhancing understanding, trust, and close ties between the two nations of Vietnam and France.
The General Secretary, President acknowledged and highly appreciated the core and active role of associations, especially the Vietnamese Association in France, in recent times, with many positive contributions in uniting and connecting the community, promoting Vietnamese culture, maintaining the teaching and learning of Vietnamese for the younger generation, and making practical contributions to the country's development.
General Secretary, President To Lam underscored that recently, many guidelines and policies have been issued to better care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of overseas Vietnamese; supporting the community in maintaining and promoting national identity; creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese to increasingly connect with the homeland.

Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese has been clearly understood by the community, and it is necessary to continue to thoroughly grasp and actively implement the spirit of this resolution to each person and each family. The Party and State will continue to improve institutions, mechanisms, and policies in a comprehensive, open, and breakthrough manner to enable overseas Vietnamese to participate more deeply in the country's economic and social life, promoting their role in accompanying and creating in the country's development in the new era.
Emphasizing the role of the intellectuals, scientists, experts, and entrepreneurs of Vietnamese descent in France, General Secretary, President hopes that in the future, the Vietnamese community in France will strongly respond to the spirit of Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, love, mutual support, integration, and development; build a dynamic, responsible, and rich community image; continue to foster the friendship between the two countries; and actively participate in contributing to the country's development.

The General Secretary, President advised that the younger generation, whether born in Vietnam or elsewhere, should always be proud of their Vietnamese identity, considering it a valuable asset in their growth journey, striving to preserve the Vietnamese language, always studying well, caring for their families, and when possible, contributing to building the homeland.

Commending the Embassy and Vietnamese Representative Missions in France for striving to fulfill all assigned tasks, General Secretary, President To Lam urged them to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party and State's guidelines and resolutions on foreign affairs; in which they should promote a proactive and creative spirit in advising and proposing solutions to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France in all fields; continue to perform well in citizen protection, serving as a solid spiritual support for the community, and actively encourage the community, especially the younger generation, to join hands in contributing to the country's development.
