Hosted by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), GAIN 2024, the third edition of the Summit, will explore pivotal themes, such as Generative AI, AI in urban life, and the ethical governance of AI, ensuring a comprehensive discussion on the technology's impact on society, business, and governance.

This landmark Summit is bringing together the best minds in AI across four stages – AI Minds, AI Synergy Sessions, Deep Learning Sessions, and AI Unplugged Sessions – all hosting panels, roundtable discussions, talks and speeches simultaneously.

The Global AI Summit (GAIN) features over 450 speakers from more than 100 countries, and host 150 sessions to discuss the Now, the Next and the Never for AI, with over 32,000 delegates expected to attend over the three days.

Top speakers include Cristiano Amon (President & CEO, Qualcomm Incorporated), Martin Kon (President & COO Cohere) Nick Studer (President & CEO, Oliver Wyman Group) and Dr. Marc Raibert (Founder, Boston Dynamics).

GAIN is taking place from today until Thursday 12th September 2024 at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

SDAIA and OECD Sign MoU to Enhance AI Incident Monitoring in the Middle East

The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This strategic partnership aims to strengthen AI incident monitoring in Middle Eastern countries and improve the tracking of AI developments by implementing the OECD AI Incidents Monitor (AIM) to track data in the Arabic language.

The MoU was signed during the third edition of the Global AI Summit (GAIN) currently underway in Riyadh, which has brought together leaders, experts, and specialists in AI from across the world. The MoU is centered on advancing AI monitoring capabilities across the region by collaborating with local entities to ensure more comprehensive reporting of AI-related incidents.

Announcement of ICAIRE's Classification as a UNESCO Category 2 Center at the Global AI Summit

On September 10, during the third edition of the Global AI Summit, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), also announced the classification of the International Center for Research and Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (ICAIRE) as a Category 2 (C2) center under UNESCO's auspices.

The announcement was made held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.

The classification underscores the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in advancing international and regional cooperation in AI policies, ethics, and research. It also highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
