He also made clear relevant issues and answered questions raised by deputies in the final question-and-answer session.

First, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh briefed to the deputies about the current situations of Vietnam and the world, and also reported the developments in the first 5 months of 2019.

At the Q&A session, answering question about how Vietnam would react to the current trade dispute between the US and China, the Deputy PM said that the dispute will affect not only Vietnam but also the world's economy.

The Government noticed this problem and already established a committee to fully look into the pros and cons of the dispute and how it would effect Vietnam's economy. He also said that the Prime Minister directed the government to develop necessary scenarios and measures to ensure our economy continues to grow, curb inflation, and enhance competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises.

Regarding the East Sea issues, the Deputy PM stressed that, Vietnam has sufficient legal grounds and historical evidence affirming its sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes. Vietnam's view is to firmly defend its national independence and sovereignty over these islands.

He also said that all related parties must resovle these disputes through peaceful measures, including diplomatic and legal processes, on the basis of respecting the UN Charter and international laws, including the 1982 UNCLOS, not to change current status of the East Sea.

Later, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan delivered a speech closing the question-and-answer session.
