WVR - On the morning of February 19, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son welcomed and held talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla paid an official visit to Vietnam from February 18-20, 2025.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla is the first guest from Latin America to visit Vietnam this year. Cuba was the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (December 2, 1960). During the most difficult period of Vietnam's national liberation struggle, the Party, State and people of Cuba always gave Vietnam extremely valuable and effective support and assistance, both spiritually and materially.

Over the past 65 years, despite many challenges and ups and downs in the world situation, the solidarity and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba has been increasingly consolidated and developed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez Parrilla and the Cuban delegation to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the "Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year", the year marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez Parrilla expressed his joy at returning to visit Vietnam and said that before the talks, he and his delegation paid tribune and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
