Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang receives Swedish Ambassador to strengthen bilateral cooperation

At the reception, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her belief that with his experience and deep understanding of the region, Ambassador Johan Ndisi will continue to make many positive contributions to further promoting the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

The Deputy Foreign Minister said that the year 2024 marked the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden.

Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and developing cooperative relations with Sweden. The State and people of Vietnam never forget and always appreciate the friendship, support and valuable assistance that the Royal Family, Government and people of Sweden have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for independence and national reunification and the current process of national construction and development.

Over the past five decades, the close relationship has been continuously strengthened and developed in depth, and bilateral cooperation has been increasingly diversified. The two sides have maintained high-level exchanges and engagements, successfully organized many visits at all levels, closely coordinated and supported each other at multilateral forums.

In addition, Vietnam has become an increasingly attractive destination for Swedish businesses and tourists. Currently, many large Swedish businesses are investing, operating effectively in Vietnam such as Ericsson, IKEA, which are a testament to the development of bilateral economic cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Johan Ndisi said that he had learned about the country and people of Vietnam and witnessed the strong development of Vietnam-Sweden relations in all fields. The regular exchange of delegations has contributed significantly to consolidating the political foundation, enhancing mutual understanding and trust, creating new momentum for bilateral relations to further develop deeply, substantially and effectively in the coming time.

Amid global challenges, the Swedeb Ambassador said that the two countries need to promote cooperation, especially in trade and investment, to diversify the market, contributing to maintaining stability and sustainable development of each country. He believes that more and more Swedish businesses will come to Vietnam to seek cooperation and business opportunities.

On this occasion, Ambassador Johan Ndisi expressed his gratitude to Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their continued support of the Swedish Embassy’s activities in Vietnam.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Hang and Ambassador Ndisi agreed to maintain regular coordination between the Ministry’s departments and the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi, contributing to the promotion and advancement of bilateral relations to a new level.
