To be present at the opening ceremony of the Exhibit were the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Kyaw Zeya and representatives of ASEAN Department, Political Department and Protocol Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar; Ambassadors from ASEAN member states in Myanmar; representatives of diplomatic delegations in Myanmar; representatives of some businesses having partners in ASEAN countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Dr. Luan Thuy Duong and other ASEAN Ambassadors in Myanmar and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the exhibition.
Taking place from 24-26 October, the ASEAN Photo Exhibit features a series of photos highlighting the diverse communities in the region, colorful ecosystems, and most importantly, the journey of ASEAN from its institution in 1967 to its development as one of the most dynamic regions in the world today.
“It serves as a window to the history and diversity of the ASEAN community; a reflection of the aspiration of One Vision, One Identity and One Community; and a reaffirmation of our commitment to strengthen the role of culture and the arts to promote ASEAN identity”, the Philippine Ambassador H.E. Mr. Eduardo E. Kapunan said at the ceremony, on behalf of the embassies of the ASEAN Member States in Myanmar.

According to the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Kyaw Zeya, the merits of the Photo Exhibition under the theme “Under one Light, We are One ASEAN” truly represents an integrated, stable and resilient ASEAN Community.
The Ambassador of the Philippines also took the opportunity to extend the deepest appreciation to the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Myanmar and the HAGL Group who offered the complimentary use of the Myanmar Plaza Lobby as the avenue of the Exhibit.
