Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan warmly congratulated Ms. Saba Sadiq, Member of Parliament (MP), Secretary of the National Assembly for Human Rights, on being elected as the Chairwoman of the Pakistan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group (PVPFG) and congratulated the Group on its successful launch on May 13.

Informing the PVPFG Chairwoman about the situation in Vietnam as well as the recent Vietnam-Pakistan relations, Ambassador Tuan affirmed that the two countries have a lot of potential that needs to be promoted and exploited to match the diplomatic relations that have been established over the past 50 years.

The Ambassador agreed with MP Saba Sadiq on the need to soon promote connections and delegation exchanges between the two countries' parliaments, thereby creating a basis for further developing all-round cooperation between the two countries. He hoped that Saba Sadiq would have many important voices in the Pakistani parliament to strengthen parliamentary relations between the two countries, contributing to promoting Pakistan-Vietnam relations.

Ms. Saba Sadiq expressed her admiration for Vietnam's development in all aspects in recent times, especially the progress in human rights and women's rights in all fields and at all levels of Vietnamese society. The PVPFG Chairwoman has great love for the country and people of Vietnam; highly appreciates the achievements that Vietnam has achieved under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Recognizing Vietnam's development as a model of dynamism and innovation that Pakistan needs to study and apply, the PVPFG Chairwoman expressed her hope that the Vietnamese Embassy will ​​help bridge the inter-parliamentary relationship between Pakistan and ASEAN countries in the coming time.

PVPFG Chairwoman Saba Sadiq said that Vietnam's development is a model of dynamism and innovation that Pakistan needs to study and apply.

Regarding PVPFG, MP Saba Sadiq emphasized that the Group, which includes representatives of many major parties such as PML-N and PPP, demonstrates Pakistan's commitment to multi-party diplomacy; strengthens regional cooperation and acts as a connector to promote cooperation in areas such as human rights protection, education, trade, tourism and cultural exchange, and is also a forum for the two sides to exchange legislative experiences, contributing to promoting inclusive development and democratic values.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to create an information channel between the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan and PVPFG to develop and implement a cooperation plan in the coming time.
