Agribank staff and employees donate one day’s salary to support recovery from typhoon No. 3

Agribank staff and employees have donated one day’s salary to join hands in supporting the localities and people affected by Typhoon Yagi.

Upholding the tradition of great national solidarity and responding to the call of General Secretary and President Tô Lâm and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with the spirit of “mutual support” and “the good leaves protect the torn leaves,” the Trade Union of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) launched a campaign for all staff and employees to contribute one day’s salary to assist localities and people in overcoming difficulties. The total amount of support is estimated to exceed VND 20 billion.

With contributions from staff and employees across the system, Agribank hopes to add resources alongside the political system and local authorities to help people in storm- and flood-affected areas quickly recover from damages.

Previously, at the fundraising ceremony organised by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Agribank donated VND2 billion, joining the banking sector in supporting people affected by Typhoon No. 3. As of September 12, 2024, the entire Agribank system had contributed over VND17 billion to support recovery efforts from the storm.

Although many branches and transaction offices also suffered operational disruptions and property damage due to the storm and subsequent floods, Agribank, demonstrating its corporate social responsibility, has carried out many meaningful activities to accompany localities and people through difficulties and help them quickly stabilise their lives.

In addition to social welfare activities, Agribank branches in affected areas have urgently addressed damages to ensure uninterrupted operations. They have also proactively visited, gathered information from customers, partners, residents, and businesses, and assessed the overall damage to develop timely support policies to help clients overcome difficulties and restore business and production.

Agribank staff and employees have also promptly provided essential supplies to support people in storm- and flood-affected areas.
