6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals: Soaring together on the journey of knowledge
WVR - On the morning of July 19, the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals 2025, themed "Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals contributing to the nation’s entry into a new era," was officially launched in Hanoi.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation, emphasized that within the framework of the forum, every young intellectual present is truly a representative of Vietnam’s young intellectual force in their respective fields of expertise, academic pursuit, research, and professional work.
Strong professional knowledge, creative thinking, global integration capabilities, national pride, and a constant desire to contribute to the country's development are the strengths of young Vietnamese intellectuals.
“With the theme ‘Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Contributing to the Nation’s Entry into a New Era,’ the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals is a practical activity to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, aiming to fully promote the role, intellect, and creativity of young Vietnamese intellectuals in national development,” Mr. Lam stressed.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, in order to effectively implement Resolution 57 as well as the orientations set out at the 13th National Party Congress and the National Science and Technology Development Strategy to 2030, the Central Youth Union considers accompanying young intellectuals not only a political responsibility but also an investment in the country’s future.
“We take pride in seeing more and more young Vietnamese intellectuals holding key positions in high-tech sectors, medicine, energy, education, global finance and more. From prestigious research centers to multinational corporations, from cutting-edge laboratories to underdeveloped areas, they are helping to reposition Vietnam in the global value chain,” he said.
Mr. Lam affirmed that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation have always paid special attention to supporting young intellectuals.
“In addition to organizing this annual forum, we have developed and maintained many practical mechanisms such as establishing and operating the Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals; coordinating seminars, in-depth research groups, and policy discussion panels; honoring and supporting young intellectuals through programs like the Golden Globe Awards, ‘Young Intellectuals for Education,’ research scholarships, and creative startup funding; and connecting young intellectuals to the national innovation ecosystem, helping transform initiatives into tangible products that serve socio-economic development,” Mr. Lam shared.
Since 2018, the Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals has gone through five editions. With participation from thousands of delegates across more than 30 countries, the Forum has become a prestigious academic space, an effective policy advisory channel, and a solid platform connecting young intellectuals with the Party, State, and society. Many proposals and initiatives from the Forum have been received, transferred to competent authorities, and are gradually being realized.
The Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals has been established and is increasingly operating in a methodical and effective manner, contributing to the global dissemination of Vietnamese knowledge.
To ensure that this 6th Forum delivers substantial, in-depth, and actionable outcomes, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam urged the delegates to engage in deep, responsible, and effective discussions around the Forum’s four key thematic groups, with a particular focus on practical and highly applicable recommendations for the 2025–2030 period.
Additionally, delegates are encouraged to propose models, initiatives, technologies, and innovative solutions derived from real-life contexts that have the potential to spread widely, connect with national and regional innovation ecosystems, and strengthen the role of the Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals as a core driving force.
He also reaffirmed the need to continue promoting synergy across interdisciplinary and international cooperation, forming research groups and policy critique teams, and generating impactful, long-term contributions to the nation.
“The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation will always be a reliable companion, a supportive hub, helping young intellectuals soar further on their journey of knowledge. And remember: each academic achievement you gain is a step forward for our country,” he affirmed.
He expressed confidence that through this Forum, new ideas will be uncovered, new connections made, and new values created — all working toward a strong and prosperous Vietnam by 2045.
This year’s Forum is marked by innovations in both content and format. Notably, it is held on a multi-platform model, combining in-person participation at VinUni with online interaction via modern digital platforms like Airmeet, ensuring participation from hundreds of young Vietnamese intellectuals from around the world.
With the participation of young scientists from top global institutions such as MIT, Cambridge, Google, and Microsoft, along with domestic experts, the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals promises breakthroughs in scientific application, technological innovation, and creative problem-solving — helping Vietnam extend its reach on the global knowledge map.
This event not only gathers intellect but also showcases the pioneering and creative spirit of the young Vietnamese generation, ready to contribute to building a powerful and prosperous nation.
Another highlight of this year’s Forum is the strong emphasis on practicality, linking young intellectuals with leading enterprises and Vietnam’s top innovation ecosystems.
Delegates will take part in field experiences such as visiting the VinFast factory in Hai Phong, exploring Vingroup’s tech-education ecosystem, and holding in-depth dialogues with Sacombank on green finance solutions. There will also be a roundtable on data security and a formal meeting with senior Party and State leaders — fostering bridges between intellectuals, policymakers, and markets.
After the event, the Organizing Committee will publish a Recommendation Report from the global young intellectual community; a Policy Mechanism Summary Report to enhance the role of young Vietnamese intellectuals during 2025–2030, with a vision to 2045; a Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Database; and an Online Forum Proceedings Book — forming the foundation for strategic engagement of young intellectuals in the coming decades.
