Hang announced the news at the Foreign Ministry’s press briefing in Ha Noi on Thursday.
The event had been reached by defense ministers of the ASEAN member countries and the US in 2018, Hang added.
The five-day ASEAN-US maritime exercise, involving at least eight ships along with aircraft, will begin at Sattahip naval base in Chonburi province, according to a post on Thailand-based Bangkok Post.
