Building on the positive development of the Vietnam - India comprehensive strategic partnership, the visit is an opportunity for the two sides to step up cooperation in an effective and practical manner.
The visit takes place in the context that Vietnam - India comprehensive strategic partnership continue to see positive development as both sides have carried out many important external activities with a focus on maintaining regular high-level visits as well as other cooperation mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental Committee.
Two-way trade turnover posted a rapid average growth rate of over 15% per year in the past 10 years. Vietnam and India continue to boost closer cooperation across multiple fields such as security - defence, education - training, and people-to-people exchange.
This visit aims to affirm Vietnam's consistent policy of always attaching great importance to strengthening the comprehensive strategic Partnership with India, consolidating the relationship the two countries' leaders, bolstering cooperation in key areas. Both sides will also compare notes on a number of regional and international issues of shared concern.
During the visit, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh is scheduled to have talks with her Indian counterpart Venkaiah Naidu, hold meetings with senior Indian leaders, attend the opening ceremony of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) overseas bureau in India, and the launch of two direct Mumbai-Danang and Delhi - Da Nang of VietJet Air, and meet Vietnamese community representatives in India.
