Vibrant Activities of Vietnam Culture Day in Russia’s Tyumen: Consulate General

WVR - On March 24th, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg, in cooperation with the Tyumen Provincial Government, organized Vietnam Culture Day in the city of Tyumen.

The event, held at the modern Technopark Cultural Center in the city center, attracted over 300 guests, including local government leaders, heads of various departments in Tyumen, Vietnamese students studying at universities in the province, and a large number of local residents.

Speaking at the event, Consul General Nguyen Mai Huong stated that Vietnam Culture Day in Tyumen is part of a series of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1950-2025). This event helps the people of Tyumen, as well as the Russian people in general, learn about the unique aspects of Vietnam’s rich and traditional culture— a nation that loves peace but is also ready to fight for independence and freedom.

Consul General Huong expressed her gratitude to the Tyumen Provincial Government for supporting the organization of the event, praised the contributions of the local Vietnamese student community to the success of the event. She also expressed her appreciation with the warm reception from the Russian people for this cultural exchange event.

As part of Vietnam Culture Day in Tyumen, Russian friends had the opportunity to attend an exhibition of photos showcasing Vietnam’s people and landscape, enjoy an artistic exchange program performed by the Vietnamese Student Association in Tyumen and Russian students. Attendee watched Film Thach Thao, and also experience a variety of interesting and unique activities that highlighted Vietnam’s cultural heritage, such as making Dong Ho paintings and performing the traditional sạp dance.

The Deputy Governor of Tyumen Province, Andrei Panteleev, praised Vietnam Culture Day in Tyumen as a meaningful event and a valuable opportunity for the local people to learn more about Vietnam’s country, culture, and people. He highlighted that the event contributed to promoting bilateral cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Russia.

According to him, the Vietnamese students played a significant role in the success of the event. With Russia’s current "Eastern policy," the younger generation is seen as a bridge between the two nations, helping to strengthen the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries in the future.

The Vietnam Culture Day event in Tyumen has contributed to introducing the rich and unique cultural identity of Vietnam to international friends. It has provided an opportunity for the people of both countries to strengthen connections, engage in exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding of each other's country and people. It also serves as a foundation for further nurturing and developing the long-standing traditional friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Tyumen Province, with its capital city Tyumen, is located more than 2,000 kilometers east of Moscow.

The city of Tyumen holds an important transportation position as it is situated on the Trans-Siberian railway, the northern railway route, and several federal highways. It serves as a major hub for the transfer of goods from waterways to railways.

Tyumen was founded in the 16th century and is the oldest city in Siberia.
