Accordingly, the GMS 6 Summit’s theme is “Leveraging 25 Years of Cooperation, Building an Integrated, Sustainable and Prosperous GMS” which marks its 25th anniversary and identifies the direction for cooperation to build a prosperous, integrated and sustainable Mekong region. On the occasion of this summit, Viet Nam will launch for the first time the GMS Business Summit initiative, aiming at strengthening dialogue between enterprises and the state, as well as connecting businesses in the region and the world.

At the same time, the CLV 10 Summit will review the implementation of the “Master Plan for Socio-Economic Development of the CLV DTA for the period of 2010-2020”; discuss the future directions of cooperation, the implementation of specific projects, and in particular the promotion of economic connection between the three countries.

Deputy Minister Dang Dinh Quy affirmed that Vietnam is an enthusiastic and active member in both the GMS and the CLV Development Triangle Area. Vietnam's hosting of the GMS 6 and the CLV 10 will continue to reassert Vietnam's role as an active and responsible member of Mekong subregional cooperation in general and the Greater Mekong Subregion and CLV Development Triangle Area in particular.
