General Director Pham Anh Duc informed President Luong Cuong about Bitel's operations in Peru. Bitel, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Viettel, was established in 2012 and began operations in 2014.

Over the past 10 years, Bitel has gone through a complex and challenging journey, from nature, culture, and language to fierce market competition. Bitel has popularised telecommunications services in Peru by reducing current rates by 30 times compared to before.

Bitel has a significant network infrastructure in Peru, with a nationwide distribution channel system and headquarters in all major cities.

Also, Bitel is the fastest-growing operator in the Peruvian telecommunications market, with an average revenue growth of 35 %/year and reaching 8.3 million subscribers. The Telecommunications Authority Osiptel rates it as the network operator with the best customer care service. Bitel also creates jobs for nearly 3,000 official and 23,000 indirect workers.

In the past three years, the average annual revenue and profit reached 420 million USD and 83 million USD, respectively. Especially in 2024, Bitel set a new peak when the expected profit reached 103 million USD, a growth of 38% compared to 2023.

In addition to practical business, Bitel staff are always aware of and attach to themselves the political and diplomatic mission, becoming a bridge of friendly and sustainable cooperation between the State, Government, and people of Vietnam and Peru.

President Luong Cuong expressed joy and emotion when meeting with Viettel's staff, employees, and workers in Peru, doing business half a world away from the Fatherland.

Pointing out Bitel's difficulties and challenges, the President emphasised that under the leadership of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and regularly and directly from the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Viettel, Bitel's staff, employees and workers have promoted the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", intelligence, courage, solidarity, overcoming difficulties and challenges to help Bitel gradually affirm its position and stand firm in the increasingly "difficult" market in Latin America.

The President said that Bitel's success shows that Vietnam's potential and intelligence can ultimately reach the world, competing equally in international markets. On the other hand, Bitel's success is Vietnam's, and the Peruvian people's trust in Bitel is their trust in Vietnam.

The President emphasised that as Vietnamese people in a foreign land, Bitel cadres and workers are not only Viettel employees but also "ambassadors" of Vietnam and therefore, every Bitel's action and effort has demonstrated the bravery and spirit of Vietnam in general and of the heroic Vietnam People's Army in particular; deeply touched in the hearts of the Peruvian people the image of a friendly, resilient and trustworthy Vietnam.

The President emphasised that every step forward of Bitel is a step forward for Vietnam in the international arena, a testament to the intelligence and will of the Vietnamese people, and the image of a modern, dynamic and aspirational Vietnam.

Appreciating the tireless dedication of Bitel's staff, the President affirmed that Bitel's achievements in Peru are the result of the solidarity, efforts and perseverance of all staff in a new and challenging environment to establish the position of Bitel and Viettel.

For Bitel to maintain its successes and continue to develop and grow stronger, the President requested Bitel to maintain high solidarity and unity within the organisation, pay attention to the lives of staff to promote human resources and create a premise for sustainable growth and development.

The President said that Bitel must know that its business mission is also a "bridge" for the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Peru, an essential partner of Vietnam among APEC member countries. The Bitel leadership, in general, and each Vietnamese cadre, employee and worker, in particular, must continue to be a cultural "ambassador" in Peru, continue to maintain and enhance the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the host country, contribute to preserving, maintaining and developing the friendly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries and peoples.

This is not only a business task but also a responsibility to the local community, and especially must uphold the law and gain the trust of authorities at all levels in Peru; at the same time, it must thoroughly understand and strictly implement the regulations of the Party, policies and laws of the State and the Vietnam People's Army; competition must be healthy and lawful; business must be conducted with kindness.
