Budiarsa Sastrawinata said that the association, with the engagement of many Indonesian Government officials and businesses, has organised many cooperation activities with Vietnam in various fields.

Over the past years, the association has coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and Vietnamese partners to hold numerous events that contribute to promoting the connection, friendship and cooperation between the two countries, he said. He hoped the Party General Secretary and relevant agencies of Vietnam continue supporting the association’s activities in the coming time. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong showed his delight at the growing Vietnam-Indonesia ties, while pointing to high cooperation between the two countries. He said that during his meetings with the Indonesian leaders, the two sides agreed to promote affiliation in all fields both bilaterally and multilaterally. The two sides also concurred to encourage and back people’s organisations to strengthen their partnership, he added. The Party chief also lauded activities of the Indonesia-Vietnam Friendship Association, expressing his hope that it will continue operating effectively to connect people, businesses and localities of both sides. He said he beliefs that Budiarsa Sastrawinata and the association will continue working closely with the Vietnamese side for stronger, more dynamic and effective collaboration between the two countries. On the occasion, the Indonesia-Vietnam and the Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Associations signed a cooperation document on organising major events between the two countries, and activities to foster economic, culture partnership and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
