The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government Office, the People's Council, the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ngoc Ha Ward, Hanoi City and the family deeply regret to announce the passing of:
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Nguyet Nga, born September 19, 1959, hometown: Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province (now Van An commune, Nghe An province); permanent residence at house number 12, alley 19/18 Lieu Giai, Ngoc Ha ward, Hanoi city; joined the Party in November 1985.
Former Deputy Director General of the Southeast Asia-South Asia-South Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; former Deputy Director General, Deputy Head of the National Secretariat of the 5th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM V); former Director General of the Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; former Deputy Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation on Economic and Trade Issues; former Senior Official of Vietnam at the Asia-Europe Cooperation Forum (ASEM); former Vice Chairperson of the Vietnam National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (VNCPEC); Senior Advisor to the APEC 2017 National Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Senior Expert Level 3/6; Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Awarded by the Party and State of Vietnam: Two Second-Class Labour Medals and one Third-Class Labour Medal; Vietnam Women's Award; National Emulation Fighter title; 40-year Party Membership Badge and many other certificates of merit and noble titles.
Awarded by the State of Laos: Second- and Third-Class Labour Medals.
Due to serious illness, she passed away at 9:25 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 (the 23rd day of the sixth lunar month, Year of the Snake, At Ty) in Hanoi, at the age of 67.
The funeral service for Ambassador Nguyen Thi Nguyet Nga will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The memoriall and burial ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. on the same day at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi (The Funeral Organizing Committee has prepared wreaths for visiting delegations).
Cremation and burial will be held on the same day at Thien Duc Cemetery Park, Phu Tho province./.
