Chien expressed the belief that the South African official would have a successful working tenure in Viet Nam.

He noted that Viet Nam and South Africa have shared effective defence partnership with active cooperation activities, especially in delegation exchange, consultation, military industry, personnel training, security protection, logistics and military medicine.

He proposed that the South African Defence Attaché would continue to push for a deeper and more effective and practical defence collaboration between the two countries. The Ministry of National Defence of Viet Nam will create the best conditions for the official to complete his missions in Viet Nam, Chien said.

For his part, Colonel Eugene Vincent Jeoffrey Dudley showed his delight at the progress of defence cooperation between South Africa and Viet Nam over the years, and affirmed that South Africa is willing to cooperate with Viet Nam in areas including English language training, military medicine, logistics and other fields of South Africa’s strengths.

He said he hopes to receive support from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence during his working term in Viet Nam, thus contributing to fostering the defence ties between the two countries.
