General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on September 13 sent a thank-you letter to his Vietnamese counterpart To Lam after concluding his state visit to the neighbouring country earlier the same day.

In the letter, Sisoulith thanked Lam and other Party and State leaders, and people of Vietnam, especially residents in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, for their warm welcome and sentiments.

The Lao leader appreciated the visit outcomes, the meeting between the two Politburos, as well as the views shared by high-ranking Party and State leaders of the two countries on cooperation results, and their commitments to further protecting and advancing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao Parties, States, and people to a new height, promoting comprehensive economic connectivity, optimising each side’s strengths, and supporting each other in development, for tangible interests of the two countries’ people, and for peace, stability, development, and cooperation in the region and the world.

At the end of the letter, Sisoulith wished Lam and his spouse, and other high-ranking Party and State leaders of Vietnam good health, happiness, and success.

The Sisoulith’s visit, from September 10-13, was made following a state visit to Laos by Lam as President of Vietnam in July 2024.
