WVR - On the morning of February 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son welcomed and held talks with Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane on an official visit to Vietnam.

At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane paid an official visit to Vietnam from February 12-14, 2025.

This is the first official visit to Vietnam and also the first official foreign visit of Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane after being appointed as Lao Foreign Minister in November 2024.

The visit is of great significance, contributing to further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos as well as the cooperative relationship between the leaders and the two Foreign Ministries.

The special relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have become increasingly deeper, more practical and effective in recent times. This has significantly contributed to maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security and socio-economic development in each country, while actively contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region.
