At the meeting, Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet and Ambassador Marco Farani discussed bilateral relations, especially in economy, trade and investment.
According to the Ambassador, Brazil is currently the largest economy in Latin America, ranked 8th in the world with rich natural resources, strong agricultural and industrial development.
Brazil has an annual export turnover of nearly 200 billion USD with key commodities such as natural gas, precious metals, coffee, soybeans and wood products. On the other hand, Brazil imports about 140 billion USD, mainly machinery, means of transport, chemicals and food.
In terms of foreign policy, Brazil focuses on promoting relations with neighbouring countries and expanding influence in the Caribbean region, while playing an important role in many international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), G20, BRICS, MERCOSUR and the Forum for East Asia - Latin America (FEALAC), Ambassador Marco Farani emphasized.
On this occasion, Ambassador Marco Farani, on behalf of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, presented a letter to Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, expressing his commitment to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
