Representatives from Austria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, leaders of United Nations agencies, other international organizations in Vienna, the diplomatic corps, businesses, scholars, students, and the ASEAN community living and working in Austria attended and spoke at the celebration.
In his opening remarks, Mr. U Min Thein, Ambassador of Myanmar and current Chairman of ACV, emphasized the special significance of the anniversary, affirming that ASEAN consistently maintains solidarity and plays a central role in regional and global cooperation.
The Myanmar Ambassador affirmed that ACV will continue to serve as an important bridge between ASEAN and international organizations based in Vienna, as well as with the host country, Austria. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sent a recorded congratulatory message from Malaysia, the ASEAN Chair for 2025, highlighting the theme of an inclusive and sustainable ASEAN, sharing progress and leaving no one behind, committing to continue supporting dialogue, trust-building, multilateralism for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.

On behalf of Austria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hannah Liko, Director General for Political Affairs, sent warm congratulations.
Ms. Hannah Liko affirmed that Austria values its multifaceted cooperation with ASEAN – one of the world's most dynamically developing regions – expressing readiness to serve as a bridge to foster a strong strategic partnership between ASEAN and the European Union (EU) and announced Austria's participation in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
Leaders of United Nations agencies and international organizations in Vienna, including the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) also delivered congratulatory speeches, praising ASEAN's role in promoting a culture of dialogue, building trust and cooperation, contributing to the maintenance of peace, security, and sustainable development.
Notably, a UNODC leader praised Vietnam's active and responsible role in hosting the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, scheduled to take place in Hanoi on October 25-26; CTBTO expressed gratitude to Vietnam for the warm reception of CTBTO Executive Secretary Robert Floyd and for successfully organizing the East Asia Workshop on National Data Center (NDC).

The atmosphere of the celebration was enlivened by traditional costume performances from ASEAN countries, showcasing the diverse beauty of each member nation.
Additionally, guests had the opportunity to visit booths displaying distinctive products and enjoy the unique cuisine of ASEAN countries through a rich buffet, helping to spread the cultural identity of the region.
This year's celebration, organized by AVC at the Vienna International Centre – home to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna – attracted the attention and participation of numerous guests from around the world.
Through this, ASEAN countries aim to affirm to international friends a united, trustworthy, and action-oriented ASEAN, while highlighting the image of a community united in diversity, cohesive, dynamic, and ready to join hands with partners for peace and sustainable development.
